The symptoms of IBS vary from person to person. Often times the symptoms are mild and people won’t even bother visiting their doctor. For others, the symptoms can be painful and embarrassing.
Often times, symptoms are worse when the person is under stress. This is the reason that so many find hypnosis and relaxation to be very beneficial.
IBS is diagnosed by the symptoms and the absence of other diseases. (Always consult your physician if you’re experiencing ongoing symptoms)
Some of the common symptoms of IBS are:
• Abdominal pain or cramps
• Gas / bloating
• Diarrhea (especially after eating / first thing in the morning)
• Constipation
• Mucus in stool
• Feeling as though you still need to have a bowel movement even though you just had one
